It's over. NYT reports that Bill Blass "will shutter its Seventh Avenue showroom and eliminate the 30 remaining jobs there." I'm glad I got to reunite with all of them a few weeks ago at the Bill Blass sample sale. Luckily, I snagged some of their most timeless and one of a kind pieces. Above is a picture of Carmela, the finisher and one of the sweetest woman I've ever met. She brought homemade tiramisu to work and I enjoyed her grandmotherly approval of my "receptionist outfits." I feel honored to have her style seal of approval. I hope Carmela and everyone else at 550 7th Ave, 12th floor finds happiness during the holdiays and lots of love in the new year.

Tonight I went to Ilana's Senior Show for Parsons soon-to-be-photograds. Congratulations Lani! The show was great, HUGE turn out. Not to mention I was [----------] this close to one of the Olsen twins. I'm guessing it was the more normal one of the two because she was in "regular" clothes and looking healthy and cute.

Later that night saw the movie, "Mister Lonely," with a friend. Weird movie...still trying to figure it out, but some really nice shots. After dinner/conversating we were walking towards the train and see Bill Maher and friends walking across the street. Can we say that he was holding hands with this super tall young very curvaceous black chic in a tiny sparkly gold minidress? I think we can.

Just finished watching a documentary that came out about a month ago in Paris. It came to me via burned copy from Marlon. Sunday at the Met Recap

This past Sunday, my girlfriends and I attended a discussion led by Harold Koda of the Met's Costume Institute. The panel consisted of Diane Pernet with her blog, A Shaded View of Fashion, Scott Schuman and The Sartorialist, and Cathy Horyn of On the Runway from the New York Times. The talk coincided with the Met's current exhibition. Viewers can share their opinions at a "blogbar" that are added to the website.

I didn't learn anything new really, but it was nice to put a body to the blog. Interesting tidbits here and there, lots of fun and laughter. It was clear they don't take this that seriously. During the Q&A portion, I asked them if they had heard of the blog Stuff White People Like. Diane didn't, but the others did. I told them that in a recent interview with the creator on NPR, he was going to do a post on "Blogging," but decided to include it under "Self-Importance." I asked them their opinion on the subject.

Diane said that she understands the blog is done in satire, therefore can't take offense. My friends and I agreed that the panelists didn't seem to answer anyone's questions directly. I did, however, chat with Harold at the Costume Institute. He said that although the panel didn't say it, they all disagreed that blogging is about self-importance. For Cathy, it is part of her job, Scott had no idea it would turn into what it has, and Diane uses it as an online diary. "They blog for a certain audience," Koda said pointing his finger at me.
